Lypogenie

What is 'Lypogenie’?

The Lypogenie is a brand of cold beam laser technology, which is a common term for Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation therapy. The term "cold" signifies that the treatment does not produce heat or damage tissue, unlike surgical or aesthetic lasers.

How It Works

Cold laser therapy uses low-intensity light at specific wavelengths (typically between 600 nm and 1000 nm) to penetrate the skin and stimulate cellular activity in damaged tissue. The process involves:

  • Cellular Stimulation: Photons of light are absorbed by the mitochondria in cells, which increases the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the cell's energy source.

  • Enhanced Healing: This boost in energy accelerates tissue repair, cell growth, and collagen production, promoting the body's natural healing processes.

  • Reduced Inflammation and Pain: The therapy helps to decrease nerve sensitivity, reduce edema (swelling), and activate the lymphatic drainage system, leading to anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.

  • Painless: The treatment is completely painless, with patients often feeling nothing or a deep relaxation during the 30-minute session.

  • Targeted Fat Reduction: The treatment can be applied to specific areas like the abdomen, thighs, hips, and arms to address stubborn fat pockets that are resistant to diet and exercise.

  • Cell Preservation: Unlike surgical liposuction, which destroys fat cells, the LipoGenie system only empties the fat cells, preserving them for essential bodily functions.

  • Additional Benefits: The low-level laser therapy can also improve skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of stretch marks, and aid in muscle recovery and pain reduction.

Efficacy and Maintenance

Results are often visible after the first treatment, but a course of multiple sessions is typically recommended for optimal and sustained results. The effectiveness is greatly enhanced and maintained when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise, which helps the body utilize the released fatty acids as energy. The procedure is considered a body contouring solution, not a standalone weight-loss method for obesity.

The Lypogenie treatment for breaking down fat works well with a lymphatic drainage treatment afterwards.
